Features to know about

Smooth Ride Over Rough Roads: 3-Leaf Design Soaks Up Shock

Bumpy pavement and long hauls can rattle a trailer and everything in it. This 3-leaf double-eye spring flexes to absorb road shock, keeping the ride steady and smooth. Each leaf works together to reduce bounce and sway while protecting the trailer from wear and tear on uneven surfaces.

Built for Reliable Suspension: Rated for 3,000-lb Axles

When you’re hauling up to 3,000 lbs, strong suspension parts matter. This spring has a 1,500-lb capacity per side and gives your axle a solid mounting point for dependable load support. It’s made from sturdy steel that holds its shape under stress, keeping your trailer level mile after mile.

Fits Right and Stays True: 25-1/4" Eye-to-Eye Length

Getting suspension geometry right keeps your trailer tracking straight. The spring measures 25-1/4" from eye to eye when unloaded and is 1-3/4" wide to fit standard double-eye setups. It connects at one end to a welded hanger and at the other to shackle straps or an equalizer for smooth movement through the suspension cycle.

Ready to Mount: Includes 9/16" Nylon Bushings

You won’t have to source separate bushings—this spring comes pre-fitted with nylon bushings that match a 9/16" bolt diameter. They let the spring pivot quietly on its mounts so the suspension can move freely without metal-on-metal wear.

Reliable Over the Long Haul: Replace in Pairs for Proper Alignment

Springs sag and stretch over time, which can throw off axle alignment. Replacing both springs together restores balance and keeps the trailer tracking straight. It’s an easy way to bring your suspension back to spec for a smoother, more controlled ride.

Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,000-lb Trailer Axles

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 25-1/4 inch long three leaf double eye spring for 3,000 pound trailer axles. Now, this leaf spring will act as part of your trailer suspension system, provide your attachment points for your trailer's axle. This does use multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb road shock. This one here has three leaves.

This will allow for a nice smooth ride, reduces wear and tear on the trailer, and it ensures a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. Now, the length of this we mentioned is gonna be measured from the center of one spring eye to the center of the other one. So if we do our tape measures center to center is 25-1/4 inches. The width on the spring is 1-3/4 inches. It is a sturdy steel construction.

If you notice, they do have the nylon bushings included installed in there. The eye diameter with the bushing installed is 9/16 of an inch. Now, pre-mounted hangers or aftermarket hanger kit is required for installation. Those items we do sell separately on our website. Basically this spring attaches to a hanger that's mounted on your trailer frame at one end, and then the other end will connect to shackle straps suspended from a hanger or equalizer.

This is for quantity of one leaf spring. The spring capacity on this is 1,500 pounds. So this is designed to fit an axle when you use this with another spring of 3,000 pounds. Now, there are additional dimensions on this spring that we do have on the product page if you do need it. But that should do it for the review on this Dexter 25-1/4 inch long three leaf double eye spring for 3,000 pound trailer axles.

My 3500lb leaf springs have failed for the second time so I upgraded to 4000lb springs, I had just upgraded my suspension with the CRE 3000 and wet bolt kit and along with the disc brake conversion I did last year so with the help from etrailer we are ready to put so more comfortable miles behind us. You can always count on the techs from etrailer to get you your parts and fix any mishaps that may come. Thanks etrailer.

Products fit as expected

This was a direct replacement for the spring that broke. It was relatively simple to install, as long as you have the jacks and tools needed.

by:

Quality parts and quick shipping.

by:

This 8000# axle leaf spring is one of seven. Six of them on the trailer, and one as a spare. I upgraded from the 7000# leaf spring to the 8000# leaf spring. Keeps my 18,0000lb toyhauler from sagging. A great upgrade. Also might consider the upgrade on wet bolts and thicker shackles. You won't regret it.

Easy installation. Fit perfectly.

Leaf springs arrived in a very timely fashion. They were exactly what I ordered and installing them went very smooth and they fit perfect.

by:

My 15 year old springs on my Keystone fifth wheel we’re flat. These new springs raised it back to original height. The camper is now level with the truck again.

by:

Perfect fit. Exact fit especially since the original manufacturer is out of business. Super help finding the replacement via chat. Thank you so much. Also they had it at my door in less than 72 hours. This is a picture of what was broken!

by:

Springs are perfect and delivered quickly. The packaging did not fare well in shipment and shipper had taped the box back together the best they could. All parts are in fine shape with no damage.

by:

Replaced some prematurely worn-out springs on our RV. Time will tell how they hold up, but they fit perfectly in my application. Replaced the included nylon bushings with brass bushings before install.

by:

It appears I had a bad Dexter spring on my 2026 Sunlite 21TH. Didnt want to deal with Warranty stuff so purchased 4 new springs from etrailer.

by:

Perfect replacement for stock springs on my Coachmen Clipper Popup camper

by:

junk
bought for my 3500 pound single
axle TT
1st trip already flat
Trailer weighed and under limits

by:

the ordering process was easy, the shipping was very quick and the installation was easy for the most part. I had to replace a broken spring on a tandem axle set up which had a equalizer which had rotated due to the trailing broken spring. I replaced the other side spring and it was a very easy. I have not used the 5th. wheel yet but don't see any problems. Thanks for the great service....

by:

Very nice looking leaf springs, although being a Dexter product I would have thought they were made in USA, a little disappointed they are not, I will be installing on my 20’ enclosed trailer

I had purchased 4 of the DX23CR Springs to replace the OEM springs on my Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE. The springs were a direct replacement, however I have the MORyde CRE3000 with a wet bolt kit installed. When I removed the nylon bushing to install the bronze bushings for the wet bolts, the bronze bushings fell right thru the hole in the spring eyelets. Eyelets were to large.
I returned the 4 springs and Etrailer sent me out Four more, they had the same issue.
Etrailer was awesome as far as the returns were a breeze.
Still on search for a spring with the proper eyelet hole dimensions

I purchased my 5x8 tilting kit trailer in 1993. I added a stake bed and plywood deck and it served me well over the years. I discovered recently that the axle and springs had rusted severely. I planned to scrap the trailer and purchase another. After searching months for new or used and having no luck, I decided to look into replacing the axle and springs. I was able to find replacement with ETRAILER. I was nervous about ordering and worried that it would not fit but I went ahead anyway. My son and I replaced the axle and it fits perfectly. Thanks ETRAILER for helping to save my very useful tool!

by:

Installed 4 new springs, Moryde equalizer and wet bolt kit onto 17 Imagine 2800 BH camper. Total time was 5 hours including blocking up the camper and clean up.
No fitment issues. Ride height increased by 1 inch.
Quality Dexter springs.

Excellant service.

by:

Great service. They aren’t installed yet but the look perfect.

These came quick. I haven't had a chance to pull it far down the road but it was a great replacement for the single leaf springs that tracker used on their trailers for the tahoe t16 boats. The shackle strap kit that I used with these worked great as well, however, there was slack in the bushing. It is supposed to be a 9/16" eye in the spring and the shackle kit was 9/16" as well. I went ahead and put it together so hopefully that doesn't come back on me to have to replace prematurely. I will know more later down the road.

  • Replacement Leaf Springs, Shackle Straps, and Wet Bolts for 2021 Grand Design Imagine XLS 21BHE
Hi Sam! For wet bolts and heavy duty shackle straps you can use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR. This comes with 2-1/4" long shackles which match the length you have now. Grand Design does a great job listing parts on their site but the leaf spring length isn't something they cover. You will need to measure the length of your existing leaf springs to find the right replacement. You can use either of the methods outlined in the attached picture to measure...

  • Do You Have a 2" Wide 4 Leaf Spring for a 2,990lbs Axle on My Trailerman Single Axle Trailer?
Hello Brett, I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time finding this leaf spring. We do not have anything that is rated that low in a 2" wide. In fact we only have 2 different leaf springs in 2" wide and neither are even a double eye. Your best bet is going to be to swap out your hangers to a 1 3/4" like the Single-Axle Trailer Hangers for Double-Eye Springs - 1-1/2" Front, 7/8" Rear # DX44CR, then you would be able to use the # DX83CR. I know that you mentioned that yours...

  • Replacement Double Eye Spring on a 2014 Keystone Passport Ultra Lite Elite
Hey, Robert. Technically yes, you can install heavier springs on your trailer, however your trailer will never be heavy enough to flex spring part # e22YR. Using springs this heavy will cause for a very rough ride. When you measured your springs, was there any sort of weight, including the trailer itself, on the springs? If so, your springs could be flexed some and you're not getting the true length of the springs. Ideally you want to jack up one side and let the axle and springs hang...

  • Looking For New Leaf Springs For Haulmark Passport Trailer
Hello Christopher, thanks for reaching out. Did you measure the leaf springs with or without a load? We do have 26" long leaf springs, I would just want to make sure your measurement was taken with the springs were not under a load, otherwise they will measure a bit longer than they actually are. If you do need a 26" long spring, the closest we have is the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e22YR which is 26" long and for a 4,000 lb axle. If you actually need something shorter, the 3-Leaf Double-Eye...

  • Can A 25-1/4" Leaf Spring Be Replaced With A 26" Long Spring?
Hey Edgar, thanks for writing in, and good question. The general rule of thumb for replacing leaf springs is a 1/2" tolerance. Going from a 25-1/4" spring to a 26" spring MIGHT be ok, but there is a chance the springs could be too long and might throw the suspension off center. Especially if they flex a bit when under a load it could put the shackles or equalizer at a weird angle. Going from a 2,500 lb spring to a 3,000 lb spring is not a problem, especially if the original springs were...
